Fees: There are two fees to participate, one for the NICA Nevada North League and another the local Galena MTB team. Fees may change year to year.

  • NICA Nevada North League Fee:
    • The 2026 NICA League fee is $370 until 6/2/26, then $385.
    • All athletes must register with NICA in order to ride with the team. 
    • NICA fees cover race registration for all five races. Races are optional for athletes, but we encourage athletes to try at least one race. NICA fees also pay for the team’s insurance, coach training, and  provide athlete/coaches benefits, and more.
  • Galena MTB Team Participation Fee:
    • Galena MTB requires a $100 team fee.
    • This fee pays for post-practice pizza parties, first aid kits, radios,  practice equipment, race tent supplies etc… 
    • This fee is collected outside of Pit Zone and goes directly to the team account
    • If team fees are a financial barrier please contact our coaching staff.  
Financial Assistance:  The Nevada North NICA League offers financial assistance for student-athletes to cover registration, race fees, and gear, aiming to reduce barriers to participation. Assistance  includes:
  • Need-Based Scholarships: For families who need assistance and qualify, the Nevada North Cycling League offers need-based scholarships to help cover league fees as part of our mission to get more kids on bikes!
  • Loaner Bike Program: For families who need assistance and qualify, the Nevada North Cycling League offers need-based loaner bikes to help lower the bar to entry as part of our mission to get more kids on bikes! Please use this link below to apply. Please not that first year student-athletes are given priority in loaner bikes.
  • Trek Pathfinders Scholarship: Trek has partnered with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) to grow diversity in the sport of cycling and provide better access for people of color (POC). The Trek NICA Pathfinders Scholarship will again provide selected student-athletes with a Trek Marlin mountain bike, helmet, shoes, accessories, as well as a stipend for NICA league and entry fees for the season.
