Nevada North League puts on five races each season. Races involve a full weekend of activity not just for athletes and coaches, but also for parents to volunteer to support these amazing events.

This page has links to each race’s event guide, volunteer sign ups, call ups (what race and starting position is assigned to each ahtlete), as well as, league rules, race results and photos.
Race Event Guide: The event guide is published about a week prior to the race. It has all the details you need about the venue, parking, race schedules, the race course, call ups, waivers etc…
Race Waivers: Parents often need to fill out and submit waivers required by race venues before athletes can be on the course to pre-ride or race.
Volunteer Sign-Ups: Races take an enormous amount of volunteers to pull off. Parents are encouraged to find a way to make each race a success. Opportunities include:
- League Volunteers are needed for race course set-up, parking attendants, course marshals, timing, staging athletes prior to each race, medical support, riders to sweep the course, etc…
- Team Volunteers are needed to support the Team Tent in the Pitzone area. This includes: setting up the tent, helping supervise athletes and answer questions, providing food and snacks to keep everybody fueled, and bottle hand-ups during races. Some races also have Saturday night team dinners that also need to be coordinated and cooked.
Race Prep: Below are documents to help athletes prepare for races.
Pitzone and Team Tent: The Pitzone is the area at each race where each team has its own team tent. There is NO BIKE RIDING in the Pitzone – always walk your bike. The team tent it head quarters for the weekend. It is where athletes get their number plate, get snacks and drinks, and meet coaches for pre-race warm-ups.
Saturday Pre-Ride: Athletes have the opportunity to pre-ride the race course with coaches on Saturday afternoon or very early Sunday morning before any races begin. A pre-ride helps athletes become familiar with the course and gives them confidence on race day to know where passing zones are and about any technical terrain. Galena team communication will be distributed through Team Snap.
Sunday Race Day: Expect a full day of racing with different races for athletes from middle school through JV and Varsity. Coaches get each group warmed up prior their race, then athletes are then staged according to the start order, races lengths vary by division. After all races are finished for the day, volunteers are needed to break down the race course and team tent.
Podium: Race day ends with an awards ceremony. The top five finishers in each race get a spot on the podium. Athletes need to wear their team jersey when they earn a spot on the podium.
